Dave Ethington, President

Growing up and raising his family in San Clemente, Dave recognizes the unique outdoor experiences afforded by the state parks. A longboarder since childhood, his weekends are spent surfing Trails, jogging or riding through the parks, or appreciating nature preserved by the parks. Dave and his family are recognized community leaders who have been involved in environmental education and outreach projects through the San Clemente Garden Club since 2008, including San Clemente’s first school garden program at Concordia. Their support for State Parks began with Earth Day events at San Mateo and San Clemente State Beach campgrounds. In partnership with State Parks Interpreter, Cryssie Moreno, they’ve actively promoted environmental education and stewardship on Butterfly Trail through the Pollinator Habitat Restoration Project at San Clemente State Beach.

Since 2001, as President, Dave has led Sirius Resources, Inc., an IT services consulting company located in San Clemente. For 20 years, he has directed the information technology initiatives for a range of small to large corporations in a broad spectrum of industries, including non-profits. His project management experiences have included working for multi-billion dollar public corporations with assignments in Washington, DC. Dave received his Bachelor’s degree in Communications from California State University, Fullerton.

Dave is a third generation southern California native raised in San Clemente. His parents relocated from Torrance to San Clemente in 1963. Dave and his wife, Kris Ethington, have a son at SCHS and a daughter attending the University of California, Davis.
